About This Home

There is something so incredible about gazing out at the wilderness, on a mountain top that offers up the clouds, actually beneath your feet. Depending on the time of year and the special weather patterns, it really seems quite heavenly. Often you can watch the fog roll in from the Bay in the morning; only to have it clear so completely that you truly feel you can see forever. Add to that the wildlife on the hills, the beautiful horses in the pasture, and the luxury that surrounds you at every vantage point and you will know you’ve found paradise. My late husband and I built thisextraordinary location as our own private “Camelot” and it has been both a home for our family and a place of amazing relaxation and memory-making for our guests. Chosen regularly as an intimate relaxationvenue, the open floorplan downstairs makes for enormous camaraderie in a perfect setting. We are thrilled to share its spectacular beauty with you in the hope that the memories you create here will last you a lifetime.

The Country Cottage has been designed with a combination of luxury and history in mind. It is warmly furnished and appointed with a western motif and many beautiful antiques. It sleeps up to 8. The gourmet kitchen is appointed with excellent tools for the chef. Absolute attention to every luxurious detail is evident through the house. The cottage has wireless broadband Internet and is beautifully oriented to both work and play. It is ideal for families. It offers flat panel entertainment systems with satellite TV. There is a stable for 4 horses with an outdoor corral and pastures on this property. Ask about rental usage fees if you wish to bring your horses. There is a hot tub and an outside barbeque. This home is not conducive to large groups for events. If you are interested in that, please take a look at the Gated Country Estate. No smoking is ever allowed anywhere on the property.

Hear what one guest had to say:
Last month my family and I rented this western cabin, (more like a retreat) and could not have enjoyed it more. The house itself is good sized, decorated in an old western style with leather furniture, beautiful kitchen, comfortable and spacious rooms. Outside the house is a porch which surrounds it. It is a most comfortable place to sit in the evenings. The grounds were the most amazing part of this property. The views are incredible, and the house is situated to see from most rooms. We enjoyed walking the ranch, seeing the horses, just being on the property.

Appliances, Electronics & General Information
The kitchen provides the following for your use: refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave oven, toaster, mixer, blender, and coffeemaker. You may find some food items, spices, etc., left by other guests, but you should be prepared to shop for your own. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, glasses, pots and pans and bake ware. We provide a starter amount of dishwashing and dishwasher detergent, paper towels, and provide the cone filters for the coffee pot. We have a washer and dryer that you are welcome to use, but you will need to provide your own detergent and dryer sheets.

We provide a large screen television with a Dish Network satellite. There is a remote that has a “Channel Guide” button on it. All you should need to do is to power on the TV and then use the remote to view the guide and choose what you want to watch. We also have a DVD player for your use. Please make sure to quiet things down appropriately at 10:00 PM.

The home has central heat and there are several fireplaces. Instructions about how to use the heaters and fireplaces will be provided in your “Welcome Packet.” Please be cautious when using the fireplaces and mindful of not leaving heating at high temperatures when you leave the house. Firewood is not provided so you will need to pick up wood or logs from the grocery store.

While there may be a few toiletries in the bathrooms (which you are welcome to use), and there will be starter rolls of toilet tissue, you will need to bring your own.

Using the Internet
We have wireless broadband Internet which sometimes requires a login. Instructions will be provided for logging into the network. You will need to bring your own laptop.

Outdoor Equipment
The hot-tub will be on “economy” when you arrive. This keeps it warm, but not very warm. Before you plan to use the hot tub, perhaps about 60 minutes before, you can change the setting to standard. There is a small panel with an up arrow that will allow you to change the setting. Please keep in mind that if young children will be in the hot tub, the temperature should not be very warm and you need to be extremely cautious that they are never left unattended.

In Case of Emergency
You will be provided with the property owner’s contact information in your “Welcome Packet.” Should there be a power failure, there are flashlights, lanterns and candles in several places around the house. There are matches in the kitchen.

Here are non-emergency numbers for local service providers. Of course use 911 if it is an emergency.
